Default Crank pulley bolt

Is there a special way to take off crank pulley bolt... i have the GM bolt in now... doing a cam swap and trying to take if off... is it like normal bolt right to tighten left to loosen...

any suggestions?

Is it spinning on you? Pull off the passenger side plastic plate by the starter and expose the flywheel so you can put a screwdriver through it to wedge it. Then just get a big socket and wrench and a cheater bar and go to town. They are normal threads btw.

Oh and if you use a 15/16" socket (I think) it fit's almost perfect against the crank to push on with your puller.

Its a 24mm. If your car is a six speed put it in fourth gear. Ls1howto.com

And don't forget to get a new bolt, it's a one use only piece. And do not use a bolt to pull the pulley back on - use a threaded rod and nut and washers - do a search on here on crank thread nightmares from using a bolt.

Or use a impact gun for the easiest and quickest way if you have one .

Ive done both with a impact gun, taking it easy of course, and with a breaker bar and brute strength...

your gonna need a GOOD high torque impact and GOOD compressor. Your standard impacts arnt gonna be even close to knocking that bolt out.. i tried with a snap on impact on a 30 gallon compressor @110 psi lol (kinda small compressor for a impact but 20 psi over max rating lol) and a electric dewalt. they didnt do **** haha...

Big breaker bar here always worked fine. Impact gun would sure be easier though.
