Cam install
I have read install instructions and it says I need a longer crank bolt. Can someone explain and also give me the specs on the bolt. I havent figured out what size I needed. Any help is appreciated, thanks
I bought a longer one for my cam install but I had to go a "metric" machine shop. It is not a size you can pick up from a Home Depot. Your best bet is, take your new crank bolt and bring it with you to have it sized up. Get it about an inch longer.
Some people tap their pulley on a bit to get it started, than use the standard size bolt to pull it in, but it could lead to stripping problems as you can see from a nearby thread...

I just finished an install yesterday and what I used was a 5" long bolt 16mm with a 2.0 thread pitch. And yes you have to go to a specialty store to get one. But it makes the job a lot easier!!!
16mm 2.0 pitch as said above, it'll usually have a 24mm head too (at least all the ones I've seen).
You need 120mm long, and 2-3 washers. I will put a picture up tonight on the site along with the specs
