So, in your infinite wisdom, name me a shop that doesn't use a "Comp" grind. I guess that Comp cams should be flattered that TR, MTI,, Cartek, ARE, etc all use their profiles. Since you know so much, and the X2 is such a simple design, name me the following for the G5X2:

Duration: Adv, .006, &.050
Lift: both at the lobe and w/ 1.7s
Intake valve opens at what degree BTDC? Closes at what degree ABDC?
Exhaust valve opens at what degree BBDC? Closes at what degree ATDC?
Cam is to be installed at what intake centerline?
How many degrees is ground into the cam, advance or retard?

If, and only if you can correctly answer all of the above, do you know the specs of the G5X2. Can you, I meaan its all really so simple, just look at a Comp cams book, right?

As far as "we only sell them if we install them", I guess I should be expecting Lou to come over and install this brand new G5X3 that I have sitting in my house.

Saying that AS heads and LGM are partners, are like saying that marijuana and Twinkies are partners. :p

Isn't it peculiar how accomodating people can be when you have your wallet out? I wonder why that is? AAAAAAnyway.. I tend do disagree with you on the matter of evaluating "good guy/bad guy". What guy is going to act like a dick when you're stuffing hundred dollar bills in his pocket? That, to you, is a good means with which to judge character? Personally, I tend to value the actions I observe here MUCH more highly as accurate representation of character.

Lou was accomodating to me before I spent any $$$ with him, and he continues to be so, even though I still owe him, and he shipped out the cam NEXT DAY before it was fully paid for. I have spent less than $400 with Lou, and he has helped me more than some other sponsors that I have spent thousands with. How many sponsors call you to ask questions specific to your application? How many sponsors will stay on the phone with you for an hour or two after they are closed? I guess that might know a little more about Lou's character than you, being as I've dealt with him, and you've read about him on a BBS.

I think you asked him if the other guy could touch them up right? is that what I am reading.

I can understand them not wanting them to have them worked by someone else.
Did you ask to send them back to them at the time?
I will say I just got a new set of heads from them and they had no issues. I think they put a few new check points in since your set. Either way I hope it goes well for you

If I did a bad job at work, I wouldn't want anyone following me, either.

What does that mean, they actually flow and perform like they are supposed to? What?

it means they did not have any of the issues he said he had. They were very clean, the milling looked great, they didn't any shavings in the coolant passages. And the flow didn't drop off. They flowed better than I expected in almost every way. In fact I was very happy with them and am sure they will take me into the 9 second qtr mile zone.

I know they had some new guys working when he had his done. So they put extra steps in place just so no one drops the ball again. Your only as good as your worst employee. So now the best checks everything before it goes out the door.

Now back to "A thing or 2 about a thnig or 2 without bashing." thread.

Almost sounds like you got a "ringer" set of heads, definitely not the norm, IMO. I am a Cubs fan, so I know all about dropped ***** , too bad (for the customers) that they were never checked before the multitude of complaints.

lol I got normal product.
of course normal is TEA's exceptional quality for an exceptional price.
have any of you guys been to the track? You list your dyno with the TEA stuff then dont list your new dyno. And what other mods you did since you added your heads.

Read the title of this thread, then read where louie turns it into a cylinder head thread after he states the only good heads are his and Absolute.

Here is what I saw in the "locked" thread. Absolute (I assume Jay) was stright up bashing another sponsor. It was neither tactful nor called for. He was doing some big talking about his flow numbers for someone who started out advertising flow numbers on here from a home made flowbench. I got to see some flow numbers from an independant test on some AS stage 2 heads. The numbers were from a SF600. I also have an SF600. I've tested GTP, MTI, LPE, MMS and other's ported heads. This independant test showed numbers nothing close to what AS advertises.

I also have to agree with Brent(I think) at TEA in that same post when he said something like,....if the G5X2 cam was used with about any good ported head it would get the same results as AS. I agree. I know what the AS heads flow compared to the afore mentioned heads. My heads, GTP's, MTI's, LPE, and others WOULD make the same power or more everything else being equal.

Normally I would not post. I too have many unposted awesome results with my ported heads as well. But since I don't sponsor the board right now I don't post them. But after this hypocritical post and "patting" himself on the back, my fingers could be still no longer.

2000Rat,this thread,"A thing or 2 about a thing or 2 without bashing",read the last 2 words,without bashing.

Sounds like a bash to me and some free advertising about your unposted non-sponsor awesome results. It also sounds like you are "patting"yourself on the back,so does it make your post hypocritical?

Lou & everyone else, my apologies for my role in getting this thread off track.

I will attempt to refrain from additional comments in this thread with my TEA experience.

2000RATA :

I am not sure what your point is if you have 0 information to really share about absolute speed. If you have never tested a set then why even make any coments . I guess its alittle slow for some on the porters these days so they have plenty of time to try to grab some free advertising and sling some mud since PP has taken alot of there market share . I dont remember the thread where AS was knocking your products but then again maby they never heard of you or dont really care because they have plenty of work to keep them busy. I have seen Jays flow bench and I can promise you its not home made. Im guessing you have lots of 450+ cars out there but knowbody knows about them because of what? . I would bet before LG starting using AS products he had them tested . Why wouldnt he want what he concidered the best product to compiment his cams to be used. IS AS the best? I dont know but I have had great success with there products and not only do they seem to make power with LG`s cams they seems to work great with Thunder Racing cams also. Ive seen alot of great performing cars from alot of different head porters so Im not knocking anyones work. All Im saying is have some real facts before steping up and talking smack. If and when you have some real world data to share I am sure everyone would be interested.

Jay from Absolute has no partnership with Lou. Lou buys Jays heads. They work together on ideas to make great power. LG designs the cams and jay will make the heads work for those cams.

Look, I don't really care who's flow bench says what, and what isolated instance got who all hacked off, and drama this drama that. I'm just tired of these LGM posts where Lou comes in sobbing like a 10 year old girl that just fell off her bicycle. He's a hypocrite, and he's doing nothing but pushing product in this thread, and here's what he said that makes me believe it:
There seems to be some vendors who have their "Pimps".
And right in the same post, here comes Lou, pimping AS just like he "hates?"
But since this is a Cylinder head thread, I don't think you could go wrong with either our LGM cylinder heads OR Absolute speed heads. All the others have too much hype, and too much "Pimp Factor" without outside validation on a large number of independent cars.
That's just another dig at TEA like in the locked thread, only instead of mentioning TEA directly, he just pats everyone but TEA on the back.. If you're going to be blind, at least be silent too.

Jay from Absolute has no partnership with Lou. Lou buys Jays heads. They work together on ideas to make great power. LG designs the cams and jay will make the heads work for those cams.
Once again buddy, if you're promoting a product for another company, you're in a partnership. It may or may not be on paper, but don't be foolish. I mean, do you expect me to believe that there has never been a conversation between Lou and Jay where Lou said he was going to recommend AS heads? Riiiiiiight... He just happened to push them in this thread. I guess you would rather believe that Lou was going mention either AS, or GTP by name, flipped a goin and AS just got lucky, right?

On a serious note, do you have the cam specs yet? I mean, its an "off the shelf" Comp cam, should be easy enough to figure out, especially since any dumbass like Lou can do it.
