im taking opinions on what to do next.. so here is the basics i recently purchased a 94 lt1 z28 camaro and i want to start modifying it since im almost done with the truck project.. i got a ls1 block laying around ...So here are the plans
either do a
347 ls1 with forged internals with f/i
or
383 ls1 stroker high compression and bottle
or
396 lt1 stroker
or
6.0 budget build/ heads/cam/

Well here's my opinion and I have owned 2 LT1 cars (1996 SS 6 speed SS and 1997 30th Anniversary 6 speed Z28 with hounds tooth and hugger orange stripes), I would 396 stroke the stock block you have in the car (spray cap it to a 4 bolt main), 11.1 copression it at least, a nice set of heads (AFR, Dart, Trick Flow), custom cam made for the motor combo and do your research on shops with this kind of experence (building motors and a reputable tuner a must) and see what all you need to have it done right and having a 1994 means you are a OBD 1 computer car and no where near the (emissions crap, rear 02 crap, smog crap, ect 1996- UP deals with) but definately if you go that route get a good Optispark (MSD) or something with the 1995-1997 timing cover and there Optispark design (bigger hole in timing cover and lets the Optispark get to the cam dow instead of spine shaft that comes though the 1994 cover). Doing the LS coversion would be a lot of rewiring and is worth doing but (will, would) be alot of work but very doable. Hope all works out in your decision and GOOD LUCK.

It all depends how much money you have and what your goals are! A forged motor low comp high psi will make prob 700ish but a budget na 6.0 wont make 700ish. FI is very expensive no kit is complete if you are buying new then look to spend at least 7000 for a good setup used prob 3-4000. Then you have to build a motor to handle it prob 5-7000. But if you build a 383 for around same price forged high comp and get a direct port nitrous setup you will spend much less money and make sameish power when on bottle plus you can have a real nasty cam in it (Which it is not good to have a REAL nasty cam in FI). Or you can 396 your LT1 which is a good option BUT you have to admit a built LS1 is cooler and will prob make much more power!! Then there is a budget 6.0 build?? Why are you comparing a forged FI setup to a budget build?? What I would do is build a 6.0 to a 408 or something AFR heads nasty cusom cam (Patrick G. spec) and throw a big wet shot on it and call it a day!! But thats Just my honest opinion!!! Also it's not much more to build a forged 6.0 over a forged 347.
