Default Compression on a 5.3??

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what compession i would be at with a set of 317 heads that have been milled .030 and a set of cometic head gaskets that are .030 thick. I still have stock pistons and the block has never been decked. If its too low im just gonna find another set of heads.

I'm not sure but you could have a valve to CW issue with the bigger head on a smaller bore?

You will be at 9.2:1 with an .040 gasket. The pistons are out of the hole from .006-008 so you shouldn't run a gasket thinner than that.

So would it be better to mill my stock 706's .030 and put on stock GM head gaskets? Im looking at getting a set of CNC'd heads pretty soon.
