connecting rod out of round tollerence

Hi,

I am rebuilding a ls6 for my buddy. I took apart the lower end and found 2 spun bearings, and some evidence of the motor being ran out of oil. I was wondering how out of round the connecting rods can be? I measured one good rod vs one rod with a spun bearing and only had 1 thou difference. Is this OK? Or do I need to tell him to get a couple replacment rods?

Normally the out of round will be under 3 tenths, you should replace those rods.

OK, thanks. I will be taking all of them into the machine shop since they can measure way more accuratly than I can. Then go from there.
