Default Lifter install?

Just wondering how hard of a job this is? I know i must pull the head. But is it pretty straight forward after that? I have had a ticking sound for a few months now and it seems to be coming from under the drivers side head/block area. i have the ls1. 2002.

If you're comfortable pulling the cylinder head then it's not a hard job. Once the head is off, you're just a lifter tray away from replacing them.

Are you sure it is not a pushrod or an exhaust leak first? Do you have any misfire codes?

No misfire codes. I thought it was an exhaust leak. Because it was doing it before i installed the headers...then once i installed the headers it was alot louder. But im not sure. We did take the valve cover off, and start her up, and it appeared there wasnt much oil shooting out the second lifter (driverside). It was really inconsistant. It'd barley shoot up. then It'd flow well....then barely shoot up. So hopefully its as easy as a bad lifter.

the biggest pain is cleaning all the crap when you take the heads off, very time consuming.

Soak the new lifters in oil until they stop bubbling or over night. Also, I've replaced lifters under one head without doing the other without issue. So, wouldn't expect any problem there.
