240z with ls1 need some help.

Default 240z with ls1 need some help.

OK im rebuilding my 240z right now. New frame rails, floor boards, interior, and new power train.

Now i had a nice set up in my TA but that was 2-3 years ago. Im looking for 400-425rwhp so i know i need heads/cam but i dont want a cam that can shake the car and me in it sence this will be my DD. My last set up was some 243 heads ported by sdpc and a 228/228/ 588/588 114lsa cam. The car made great power and only had 8.5:1CR it was set up for a big blower witch never got put on the motor. The car ran great and i never had a problem with it. Now should i just do the same motor setup and put it in my 240Z but bump the CR to 10.5-11:CR? I have not been in the game for a while so i know there is better stuff out there now. Help me out.

The car will be under 2500lbs with a full interior, ac, and new power plant.

Look into getting the 228R cam, It's pretty impressive. Ported 243's are great, add some swap LT headers into the mix and a LS6 intake manifold and you will have a very nice performer!

Is that the 228 cam with the XER lobes and not the XE lobes. If so that is the cam i had. The ls6 intake is a given so are the headers if i can find a set that will fit with the car.

Yep, that's the one. You could always go with something like a MS4 cam. Who knows, a peaky cam might be just the thing for a lightweight swap car. Might help keep traction.
