Default noob head machining question

when you have your heads milled do you have to have your intake milled to compensate for the milled heads?

I know if you mill a large amount then it will affect the IM bolting up but I don't know just how much really matters. I'm curious what people say here as well since I'm about to mill some heads from 66 down to 62cc chambers.

You have to mill the deck surface as well as the intake surface on the cylinder head. You don't have to mill the intake itself. The machine shop should know that though.

4cc is probably about .028", I don't think that's an issue. I had my 5.3L heads milled .022 no problem. I think you run into trouble at like .040".

I have milled .035 from heads without having problems bolting up the intake, but you will need new pushrods.

Push rods are the only things I ever had to change with milling.
