Info about the car, it has a 03 5.3 in it (reason for changing the pan/pickup). Before i removed the pan it had about 60lbs of oil pressure cold. Now when i sart it there is no pressure. I have a manual gauge on it, thats how i know how much pressure it had. I have loosened the pan bolts to let it drop about half a inch to see if it was on the bottom of the pan and still nothing. The pickup has a new o-ring on it. Please help ASAP. Im tired or putting it together and having to take it back apart. Thanks in advance.
i wouldnt guess a pinched o-ring equals "0" oil pressure.....waht else did u do, sounds like you fugged sumthing up...maybe im wrong, maybe it is a oring but if u checked well i dont know, are u actually starting it or just turning it over...maybe u ff'd the sending unit up or the pickup tube is fuggged

Well when i got the car it had a truck pan on it. I ordered a new pan, pickup and tray for a 5.7 ls1 not the 5.3. As far as motor goes thats all i have done. Im going to pull the pan off in the morning and fill a bowl with oil and put the pickup in it. I would rather make a mess instead of buying a $130 oil pump and pulling the front of the motor apart to do something that might not fix it. I have worked on cars all my life and have never heard of a pump going out over night. I have only seen them slowly die and drop pressure. I did pull the truck balancer off and put the cars on buy i dont think that would mess anything up. Thanks for the input guys maybe its something small because it getting old pulling this car apart and putting it back together to find something else not working. Been apart 10 times sense last saturday, Pulling the trans and all.
