new cam
new cam ok i bought a new cam for my stock camaro and it a 631/631 lift and at .050 it 230/243 duration and i need to know what all i need to change to put this big of a cam in. i just bought new spring that can handle a .631 lift and i know i prob need a vacuum pump but not sure what else i need so can you tell me what i NEED.
mods are long tube headers, no cats, borla exhaust, slp MAF, slp cold air and i tune it with HPtuners.

Who did you buy the springs from? I woulda went with .650 springs to make sure it could handle more then the lift.
You'll need the basic cam changeing kit. Oil pump, timing chain, gaskets, etc
Id suggest LS2 timing chain, Ported and shimmed ls6 oil pump, and you can get a gasket kit from just about any sponsor on here

you don't need to change it, its just one of those cheap insurance things you do as long as your there type of things. if your car has low miles you really don't need to do it, just recommended by most. YOu don't need a vac pump you can get by with a vac canister and save your self a couple hundred. My friend has a ms4 and he just added one and his brakes work fine no matter how much he stops and his brakes worked prior to the canister just really shitty. if you plan on going fi anytime soon just buy a vac pump then. one less thing to buy in the future.
Oil pump is just for insurance like stated above. Also i forgot youll prolly need a little longer pushrod (most likely 7.425 as long as its stock un milled heads) but i would measure with a pushrod checker
ok well 1 question wiith that big of a cam wouldent i need to go smaller push rods cause my lift is 631/631 and lob sep is 114 deg. and isnt my rockers 1.7 from factory? but i am getting new lifters springs came in today and im getting the gasket kit. and how would a vac canister help keep my vacuum around 20psi?

no, not necesssarily, that cam will idle at 900>950 rpm.
no heads come off while motor in.

Port the ls6 heads. Viperbluelx on here swapped his cam in his ls6 vette and dynoed the car, then ported his ls6 heads and redynoed it and gained 30rwhp just from porting them
