Default Need help choosing a cam...

So I've done an *** load of reading, but reading can only do so much. I'm in Hawaii and there is almost no cam/stall cars over here, so I don't have the ability to ride/drive one to decide what I want. My car is a daily driver, but I am looking for a choppy idle and I don't give a **** about gas mileage or anything like that.

My current mods are in my sig, I plan on dropping in the built tranny before H/C/I and the 12 bolt will probably go in afterwards. Anyway, as you can see from the sig, I plan on going with a FAST 92/92 and Trick Flow 215cc heads(input on the combustion chamber size is welcome also, I was planning ~64cc) and I was looking at going with the TR 230/224.

My question is, can I get decently streetable cam that will make more power than the TR 230/224? I have been looking at the Torquer v.2/3 and the MS 3/4, but I since I have very little experience around cammed cars I'm not sure of their driveability or lack there of. I would also like one with a little more power under the curve, I'm sticking with the stock bottom end and don't want to have to rev it to the heavens.

I have the ms4 it is very streetable and makes great power but unless you have valve reliefs you can only have ported heads not milled before the ms4 I had a 233/239 that made 426 on a mustang with stock heads though a six speed it ran hard and I would go 4000 stall with whatever you go with and my friend loves his ms3

That 233/239 from TSP looks pretty nice. I'm looking at their packages with the PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads, they are tempting, so much cheaper than Trick Flows, but I can't seem to find any info on their specs at all. If I could get similar numbers out of the PRC heads compared to the Trick Flows then I'd be all over that.

Hmm, found a couple dyno sheets with the PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads with the Torquer V.3 and MS3 heads. The MS3 had an LS6 intake and made 445hp and 410tq, while the Torquer V.3 with a FAST 90/90 made 444hp and 391tq. Both look to have about the same hp and tq curve from the dyno sheets I'm looking at. ****, I wish I could find someone with a MS3 in their car around here, I wanna ride in one.

The PRC Stage 2.5 5.3L heads/MS3 combo from TSP is looking better and better.

Any feedback on streetability with the MS3? I rarely use air conditioning, but I need to be able to run it when it rains and is still hot as *****, which is pretty frequent here in Hawaii.

with those trickflow heads you don't have to run a monster cam to make good power. a friend of mine has 215cc trickflow heads, Fast 90 intake, 224/230 cam, longtubes and boltons...after a "decent" tune he made 470rwhp on a dynojet, and it drives great. he drives it every day during the nice months

Our RR230 cam will run very well with that combination. 230/236 111. Strong camshaft with a choppy idle.

You have any links to product info on it or some dyno sheets? I'd like to see the hp and tq curves on it.

Think I'll save myself some money and go with the Torquer v.3 and the PRC stage 2.5 LS6 heads from TSP.
