insane cam......... or not?
THIS IS A CUSTOM-GRIND STEEL BILLET HYDRAULIC ROLLER CAMSHAFT MADE BY CRANE. THIS CAMSHAFT WAS USED ONLY ONCE DURING AN ENGINE DYNO TEST FOR A MAGAZINE, ON AN LS2 ENGINE THAT PULLED 625.4 HP AND 534 FT-LBS. IN ABSOLUTELY BRAND NEW CONDITION. OUTSTANDING RESPONSE AND POWER. I SOLD THE ENGINE TO A BUDDY WHO WANTED A MILDER CAM, SO THIS ONE IS FOR SALE. THIS IS A KILLER CAM FOR A HIGH PERFORMANCE LS1 OR LS2 CHEVY/PONTIAC ENGINE.
VALVE LIFT IS .624" INTAKE AND EXHAUST. DURATION AT 0.050" IS 256 INTAKE AND 264 EXHAUST.
would this be a pretty insane cam for the street, if its doable, wht supporting mods would be needed, (springs, retainers, locks, pushrods, flycutting?) thanks
also what would be a good deal on this cam pricewise.

That's a monster cam as far as duration goes. It would be VERY difficult to tune and would probably suck to drive it daily. I'm sure it will make good power in the upper RPMs but probably suffer down low. As for price I wouldn't pay more than $250 for a used cam even if it was only used once supposedly.

That thing would be INSANE for a daily driver...almost stupid to even try IMO.
If you want the car to have no power below 4,000 and idle a 1,100 then go for it. That thing would probably need a 4500 stall and 4.56 gears to run correctly.
With the 114 LSA, that would mean it makes peak power probably around 7,000 RPM's...not so good for a stock LS1 rod bolts.
