i did a google search on the topic and got this thread from this site this should help alot

cliff notes version if you dont feel like reading: Gen 4(LS3) cam probably won't work in Gen 3(LS1) engine, plus a LS6 cam is more aggressive than a LS3 cam..............If your doing a cam swap go with a aftermarket cam because using a factory spec cam will only net a little more HP than what you already have.

Thanks for the help. Its my wifes car and she/me wants a tad more power. Also by tad I mean another 30 to 50. Does anyone have the gm part number for the newer c5 z06 cam? They only number or cam I can find is the 525/525 version. I would like the 550/550 version. I have 1.8 rockers thats why Iam looking at slightly smaller cams. I really dont want to replace my rockers if I dont have to. Or can any recommend an aftermarket cam that would work for me thats not supper aggressive but will still add the power I want.
