ran slower times after 228 cam install
Mid Michigan is the place to go.......it's never crowded and the prep is usually decent.
To answer your question, NO this isn't a joke. Flint asked a question and for us to help him answer it. Don't be a dick and ask if this post is a joke. So to answer Flints question, you should get a tune first and see how it feels, then you can start diagnosing problems afterward if their is any.

Tune is necessary with a cam install, REGARDLESS of what your "butt dyno" says. Not only are you most likely running extremely lean but that 228 cam is going to peak @ 62-6300 rpm. I'll bet you're only shifting @ 6k, which would cause you to drop out of the power band after each shift. Ideally, you should be shifting @ 65-6600 with that cam. So that should explain why the car was slower, I.E. you are in need of a tune, period.
make.
I was curious what it would run. Didnt think it would be that bad for the car, no ses light came on. I did scan it today & yea, its runnin a lil lean. Fuel trims were in the + 15-18 area adding fuel. Although its running fairly lean, I never heard it knock. I wont be driving it much until I get a tune on it.

I answered his question. I said I'd never run a car hard without a tune after changing cams. Then I didn't really ask if this post was a joke. I said I wanted to ask the question. Even had quotation marks around it to indicate what I wanted to ask, but technically did not. So, eat my ****.
