Probably worth getting the oring changed on the oil pump pickup. Does it tick quite a bit right after you start it? Usually the oil will aireate if the oring is bad causing the lifters to tick. There could be many other things causing this problem. Wish there was a quick fix but you gotta start someplace. You might want to have them compare it to another ls1 car. Honestly your oil pressure is low....no matter how much they try to BS you...its too low. DON"T BEAT ON IT till you find the answer.

yeah ill be bringin it back up there a lil later today.

Oil Pressure (Minimum - Hot):
1,000 RPM = 41 kPa / 6 psig
2,000 RPM = 124 kPa / 18 psig
4,000 RPM = 165 KPa / 24 psig

its so hard to believe that the motor would still hold together with only 24psi of oil pressure at 4k let alone 6psi at idle!!

so can anybody tell me why GM says all the ls1 needs pressure wise is
Oil Pressure (Minimum - Hot):
1,000 RPM = 41 kPa / 6 psig
2,000 RPM = 124 kPa / 18 psig
4,000 RPM = 165 KPa / 24 psig

but my old motor an every other ls1 or ls based motor vehicle iv ever ridin in or drivin have had 35-40psi at 1,000 45psi+ while driving an around 60psi+ under WOT?

Quick Reply: oil pressure??
