I am looking at upgrading the cam and valve springs on my tube chassis Rock Crawler and need advice on cam selection. I have read a lot of great info regarding cams here, The only problem is my application is a little different than a Camaro or Vette.
Here is a little bit of Info on my rig
2002 LS1 with Hooker Ceramic coated block hugger headers, no cat with chambered muffler, mild tune, Corvette fuel filter reg., Walbro fuel pump and everything else is stock
Built Turbo 350 with around 1600 rpm stall
4.56 gears, 42" tires and a custom Stak transfer case
weighs around 4000 lbs
Selecting a cam for such a rig seems a little tough, here is what I need:
It needs to make as much torque as possible from idle to WOT, higher stall converters build to much heat rock crawling and do not do so great, I would like for it to sound good a little lope would not hurt,

I would look at the Vinci Truck Cams, they seem to make good power through the power band. I would imagine you would want more low and mid instead of all top end. Use the search on 'em, you will see. Nice crawler BTW!!!
