Default 5.3 with 243 head PTV question

Guys, I have a PTV question. My son's truck is a 2005 RCSB Z71. I have a CTSV that I removed some parts from. I am considering putting my 243 heads, LS6 intake and my old Vengeance VRX3 cam (226/228 590/590 114+4) on the 5.3. I know that in stock form with the 243 heads, it will cause it to lose a little compression going from the 61cc heads to the 64cc heads. What I was looking at doing was running the .040 gaskets and/or mill the heads some to get the compression back up on the 5.3. Does anyone know that with the thinner gasket or milling the heads, if I will have enough PTV clearance with the VRX3 cam. Or how much can I mill with the .040 gasket and still be safe. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

good luck with your build man for every .006 you lose a 1 cc so your stock gasket on the 5.3 is .053 and your going to .040 you lost a little more than 2 cc so your at 62 cc there because of what you lost with the tinner gasket I would mill them for .015 and you would be almost the same you would have the same compression you had you don't want to mill the heads to much and mess up a good head good luck again man about the cam I would use a smaller cam you want more low end torque because it's a 4X4 like a 220 220 581 581 at a 112 + 4 but that would be me

I know a little smaller cam would be better, but I already have the VRX3. It only has about 5K miles on it. I really wanted to use it, even if I have to put a small stall converter in it. I can do the converter. I was mainly worried about the PTV clearance. Thanks anyway, I know I should do a smaller cam, but wanted to use it since I alrady have it. I have the 243 heads and rockers. The only thing else I would have to get are valve springs and push rods.
