Default msd wire life

I'm tunning my car up and I was wondering how many miles can you run msd wires before they go bad? Is there a easy way to check them out before buying new ones? I'm going to change the plugs for sure but don't want to spend 70 bux on wires if I don't need to. Any help would be appreciated.

Unless they are degraded (ripped, torn, burnt) they should be fine. You can check them with an ohm meter.
If you do need them I offer the best deal on the planet on MSD

no loss ! Take the leads and touch them together and see what the reading is. Then touch one to each end of the wire and see what the reading is. If the initial is reading lower than the second reading then your getting loss/resistance across the wire. If they are the same the wire is fine.
