Default TR224 in a stock A4

CAM experts please im thinking about Thunder's 224 on a 112 for my stock A4 with headers . i have a friend that put comps 220/224 112 in a extended cab truck with a 6.0 and it moves AWESOME with a stock tune( 13.20 STOCK CONVERTER ) . My question is how would either of these cams work in my car with a stock converter and headers and eventually tuning?Any help or suggestions is greatley appreciated.

P.S. i will be at the thunder shootout and will try to bring him along.

I have this cam and I would opt for the 114 LSA with your A4 as the 112 LSA will be a bear to live with on a stock tune. If you have it tuned immediately after, it would be somewhat liveable I would think but the 114 is the better choice for the A4. There really is no noticeable performance difference with the two.

Definitely go for a 114LSA if you're keepin a stock tune. Having a stall 'verter will help you take advantage of this cam obviously. Keepin that car idling and in day to day driving will be a b!tch with a 112 w/o a good tune.

Since you plan on using headers, I'd go with a single pattern cam, and on a 114 LSA since you have an auto tranny.

overlap

112 will have more.

114 will have a better idle and most likely a little wider powerband.

The 112 will probably have a higher power peak.

I wouldnt try it on a stock converter w/o tuning, I doubt it would stop and not die. If it wouldnt die the idle would probably have to be turned high enough to where it would jump forward.

i'd hold off on a 112 until you can tune soon afterward or just go with the 114. still has some noticible lope to it and it will be easier to bear with stock tune and stock stall.

i doubt you would notice any difference between the 220/224 and the 224/224.

I doubt the 112 would idle on a stock tune.I just put a 224 on 112 in a A4 and after lot's of idle tuning we set it at 850rpm in gear.It really works the brakes holding the car at a stop.
