Default 346 Forged internals

Is it possible to get forged internals for the 346 ls1 to take a 200 shot safely. I know people have put a 200 shot in our cars and no kaboom but most of them its just a freak streak of luck. What would need to be upgraded to make it as reliable as a 125-150 shot? I know the aluminumn bottom end is suspect to fail but it should hold for a 175-200 shot?

THe car has a 224 cam pkg and bolt ons LTs and such.
To sum it up my question is what else is needed?

Thanks,

First off, the only thing about the bottom end thats aluminum is the pistons. Any and every aftermarket piston is aluminum. The otehr parts of the bottom end are steel. All you need to make the bottom end handle that is forged aluminum pistons and a good set of rods. The crank will be fine.

A proper tune and providing adequate fuel when using a big shot of N2O is equally important (maybe even more important) than having the top of the line crank/rods/pistons...

I'd want to set the top ring gap up a little wider with a ~200hp hit of gas, too...

Thanks so do you think its worth the money for the piston swap. Thanks for straightening me out about the bottom end also.
Any specific specs or type pistons I need to look into?
I really appreciate the info.

Follow the sponsors links over to the right, and check out Diamond Pistons. They can set you up with what you need. ---->
