Default lt1/ls1

i have a friend that can not comprehend the diference between an lt1 and an ls1 engine i have given him multiple explenation i am just look for some outside tech talk so he will believe me.

Questions he has asked why will a ls1 cam not work in an lt1. visa versa

what is the diference in the block other than that it is aluminum

are the main and cam journal diferent sizes

so on and so forth and anything else that is diferent from the ls1 to the lt1

The only part that is common between the two is the lifters. It is a COMPLETELY different engine. Has your friend been living under a rock for the past 12 years? Ask him why a cam from a chevy 350 won't fit in a ford 351.

As for the block, the bore spacing is the same...but everything else, everything is 100% different!

the angle of the heads is different too. i think and ls1 is 18* vs 23*

the LS1 has an "S" and the LT1 has a "T"

your best bet is to find an article or book that lists the architecture and dimensions of the ls1. The Lt1 is basically an old school small block besides small differences, thats the best I have.
