Default Anyone use ARP header studs ?

Has anyone used the ARP header studs ? How did you like them ? Were they easy to install? any issues?

There will be used for a 06 GTO with kook's long tube headers. Hoping they will be easy to install

I have them with my kooks and love them, The price hurt but they make hanging the header by your self easy and the look of the 12 point nuts is sweet imo.

^^^ I agree - they are pricey but well worth it to me. I did headers by myself and just pulled them off again for heads/cam/intake. Made that part of the job a breeze!

This is what I used. I know it says oil pan but they work perfect for headers too. Stainless steel and inexpensive.

I went with ARP studs on my Camaro when I swapped from 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" headers. Unfortunately, the install advice I have is only related to the F-body...I'm not sure what the clearance is like on the GTO when installing headers.

For the F-body, you can pre-install each and every stud in the head on the passenger side and still have enough room to get the header in place without interference. The driver's side, though, you couldn't install even one and get the header to slide in place. You just kinda have to watch where the headers need to go in relation to the heads as you slide the headers up to see if there will be any clearance issues with pre-installed studs.

Other than that, I love mine. They look great, and sealed everything up as they should. Pricey bastards though...

One more thing to add, I use hi temp anti seize on the threads going in to the heads, I use a hex bit and bottom out the stud and then back it off a little bit. I have removed them and reinstalled them several times with no problems. They look like the day I bought them.

recessed into the stud.
lil allen key. i think i used a 10 or 15 torx driver so i wouldnt put them in too tight.
im my 3rd gen, i can do all the drivers side, only a couple on the passenger side, i have a pretty tight header clearance issue there.
still makes it easier to get the header and gasket lined up and they look bitchin'.
ive had tons of compliments on them from racers to waxers.
just finishes out the look, IMO.
they arent needed, and a complete waste of money, unless your an addict.
