hhmm 383ci Solid Roller .. sounds wicked
One other thing. The pistons must be designed for a 4" crank. If the pistons you have are made for a stock stroke they will not work with the 4" crank. The pistons are the part that need to be made for whatever stroke and rods you'll be using.

I want to hear what a machinist has to say about this crank before getting overly excited. Sometimes new Eagle cranks have been tappered on the journals etc. A lot of extra machining required to balance/machine cranks properly that has issues like that. I hope the LS1 stroker cranks will be a lot better

Yes...jobber is wholesale , racer net is MSRP, expect most shops to sell them for somewhere in the middle between jobber and racer net

I have been thinking of my next setup, now this is some good news. I think a stroker will be in my future.

This is good news. What will the prices be for a 382-383 stroker kit and for a 427 stroker kit?

What all are you including in the kit? That's a really nice price!

I have heard that Eagle uses forgings from China, then finishes them here.

True?

Aidan and I are using the same setup except he is going to use an Iron block. What i got from him was an Eagle 4" crank, Crower rods with ARP rod bolts, Diamond boost piston for 8.5:1 comp, diamond rings, and rist pins for $2000. I also got ARP mains. Vince give me a call today.

Does it have to be balanced?

You might depending on the Rockwell # of the metal. Historically Chinese rods & cranks have been rather brittle relative to US forgings. Not a problem 'til you start rattling the motor (RPM's/Nitrous)

NA$TY, Why did you go for the 383 kit when you could have had the 427 for the same price?

Probably because he would have to add the expense of a C5-R block or a sleeved block to get the 427 inches? "383" or close to it would be with stock liners and a 4" crank only.

The 383 is $2000 for the entire kit w/o install....and he can retain use of his current heads if he desires.

A 427 is $4000 minimum just for a basic shortblock, and that doesn't include the new heads he'll need....so tack on another say $2000-$4000 depending on how crazy he'd want to get.

Thanks Verbs. That is exactly why i did it. The other option was to go with an iron block. I have been fighting it over in my head and i decided i didnt want to add the wight after all. what was the most important thing to me..... strength. I wanted to be able to run more boost then i am now and not have to worry. The pig also weighs 3834 with me in and no weight reduction. With the seats all out including the passenger i got ot down to 3640. Who likes to drive like that all the time?? Not me. When i go to the track yeah. It really has to do with your goals and how much $$$$$ you have to play with. Just like Scott Turvey said above you can use the stck liners. All i need is a clean up hone of .007 and then all new bearings and have a machine shop put it togeather and make sure its all balanced and throw my heads on and basiclly i have a new motor. Hope this cleared up all the questions. My kit will be going in as soon as the parts get shipped and get to me.

OK thanks for clearing that up. Sounds like a bargain! How much boost are you running now?
