Checking valve pattern why do u need a soild lifter ? Ok when checking the valve tip/rocker wear pattern why do u need a solid lifter ? if it compresses a little whats it matter your going to compress it with preload anyway
If the pushrod compresses the lifter, two things result. First, you lose some lift and as a result shift the pattern to the intake side. Second, you need to be at zero lash when you do this otherwise the results are skewed.
