My friend has an 02 Ws6 and he thinks it will beat my Cobra, he has an Slp intake and its basically stock

BUT, he said at the end they ran outta the LS1 block and they put an LS6 in it, is that true?

 

LS6 block doesn't mean jack squat in terms of performance. But to answer the question, yes it is possible the car has a LS6 block.

Yes he started out saying that his car weighs like 1,000lbs more than mine, I told him mine weighed 3,710, because of my rims that I love and cannot do with out . And he said no ford in production weighed more than 3,400 so I had to correct him there. And he was talking about how when he beat me he would not have traction problems blah blah blah. I'm like my car has 600hp, of course it will. He said that my 520rwhp dyno video means nothing because those things "are not accurate". I just have to at him. And I have come to the determination that I will only race him if its for $1,000.

4th gen. f-bodys do not weight 4,700. They are more like 3,700. Mustangs on the other hand (from what I hear) weigh closer to 4000?

 

whys it gotta be for a 1000 bucks you should run him at the track of course for saftey purposes and then let us know whats up im just sayin and yes some 02s came with ls6 blocks which mean nothing really

 

You need to get the #'s off of the back behind the head on drivers side. Use a mirror and a flash light. Then you can run them on here to find out for sure.

The LS6 block is the best block for bay to bay cylinder breathing of oil vapors. The early 97-00 had holes drilled in them for this reason. The ls6 has bigger windows casted in the block. And tippically they make the best foundation for building a good high horse power motor from.

 

I wont take my car to the track lol. Not anymore. My rear end is about to go, so no racing from a stop for me, 80,xxx miles and burnt out gears in the rear end are a no no. Although I have my time slips and everything he still claims he will beat the "mustangs running around". He has raced older Gts and says Cobras, must have been before 03. Because it would kill his car. I just hate people that are SO cocky that you cannot explain anything to them. Plus since he "works on cars enough" and went to school for it. Well so did I. But I do not go around like him acting like he knows everything and tries to bash someone when he doesn't even know the specs. The funniest comment I heard was, my car has the same Hp as you and its not even supercharged lol. He did not know Cobras came supercharged stock so I guess he had the whole "car is too slow so you had to supercharge it" ego. I just hate people like him lol.

 

I have a friend like that. I don't say anything except for we will see when he get's the car built....(He likes hondas )
