6.0 swap help
Alright hang with me here. I was looking through Scoggin-Dickey catalog when I ran across a 6.0 block that they sell. Now it says that "all standard LS1 components and sensors will bolt to this block." Does this mean heads, intake manifold, oil pan, etc. or is this only things like the alternator backets and that kind of stuff.

I would think that if the block is the same, except for the internal dimensions, that all the exterior components would fit right on there without any issues. However I haven't ever sat back and just looked at a 6.0L block either lol. We all know the heads fit just fine, and the intake should be a sinch. It shouldn't be an issue honestly, but keep searchin for answers as I don't own a 6.0, so I'm not 100% either.

the 6.0 block does not have the 3rd hole for the alternator.
The 6.0 is a GEN 3, just like the LS1, and it will accept all the parts from a LS1 motor, other than pistons.
So if you buy one to build up, your fine.
HOWEVER, if you buy a built 6.0, and its the older style, the cranks have a different end on it, and need to be machined to work with a f-body.

Thanks a lot everyone. That info really helps any other info that anyone else has would be greatly appreciated. The reason I ask is because I am thinking of swapping one into a 1969 Camaro. I drove my buddies Firehawk and fell in love with the LS1 however the price of a bare block new is like $1500.00 and I saw this 6.0 liter motor and figured, a lower price and more cubes ain't nothing wrong with that. Granted its not an aluminum block but I am not building a racecar either.
