ok boys heres the deal. i have the origional LS1 out of my 2001 SS sittin in my garage. i replaced it after a cam mishap that sent some shavings through the motor obviously damaging the bearings and what not. I got a New Ls1 from GM and i noticed the head bolt lengths were different what other differences are there? and also i want to take that origional one and use it for a boosted application, im planning on throwing a set of 317 heads on with an APS kit. how much will those blocks handle?

ok... i have a 2001 SS Camaro (so its a 2001 LS1). motor got fucked up so i called a GM performance parts dealer and they made me a deal for a NEW LS1 for like 3000.00 so i took it. this was in 2007. When i took the heads off to put a new cam and pushrods in and everything i ordered new headbolts for it an some of the lengths (i believe on the exterior ones) were slightly different. im wondering if there are any other differences in the later model LS1 blocks. and also HP limitations people are encountering
