Default cam question with a twist

How do i go about selecting a cam for a 13 to 1 6.0 thats carbed and on e85 with l92s and a vic jr intake in a drag car . Cars about 3500 with me in it,and set up for drag racing. As in slicks,9 inch, 3500 stall, turbo400 probably with brake by the time i get the motor ready Ive never played with e85 or a carbed ls so im a little lost.Any help would be appreciated.

So nobody wants to take a guess?Im thinking about a 110 or 112 lobe sep and a high230 intake and mid to high 240 exhaust.I know everyone hates carbs on ls motors but the car is currently a sbc thats carbed with a fuel system for a carb and nitrous.Though ill need a bigger pump for e85.

If you really want a cam that works with this somewhat unusual combination, guessing isn't really a good way to go. Remember that your single-plane intake has much different runner lengths from the OEM intake so cams that work with the LS-style intakes won't be very close for what you are trying to do.

There are folks who have successfully done cams for similar setups, but not many of them. My advice is to seek one out and let him decide what works. If you want to try to spec your own cam as you seem to indicate, don't bother (with) the experts, but you will be leaving a lot on the table.

My $.02

You'll want a narrow LSA...like a 108-109 b/c thats what carb'd motors like.

You need to get a hold of a good cam grinder first and foremost. I have heard good things about Predator-Z and Pat G on here. Do a search on them and start PM'ing them is what I would do...pick their brain about cams in carb'd LSX motors.

My opinion.

can you afford solid roller stuff ? For a drag car I'd go solid

what gear you thinking and how high rpm you want to go thru the lights at?
