Default Caddy lifter failure @ 5,000 miles

Changed oil last night and found a small piece of metal on drain plug magnet. I first thought of a valve retainer lock or rocker arm, so I remove valve cover and rocker arms to find nothing? In the back of my mind, Im still thinking lifter? Due to all the Caddy lifter failures.
Use my bore scope and find on the #6 intake the lifter cup fractured. I really need to eat crow, when I was building this engine I had both the Morel lifters and the Caddy lifters and used the Caddy lifters? I have sold my Morel's since then. So tomorrow I will be ordering another set of Morel lifters.
Im just glad I change my oil about every 750 miles to check everything over ( I race about every weekend, this is why I change it so soon), and grateful I found this before a huge failure could of happened.

Dude don't say that! I just put a set of caddies in my TA w/a 228R. I have caddie lifters in my GTO and they see 7200rpms and no problems what so ever...
