Default Good Timing Chain Upgrade?

Well I am in the process of installing my heads and cam in my low mileage (20,000) Ls1. I see the chain has quite a bit of slop of if (A good 1/2'') and I know this is normal. Would it be a good idea to upgrade to a better chain? I have heard of some people using an LS2 chain with thier stock gears. Is this possible? Thanks!

I would get the whole timing set...sprockets and all! A good choice might be the Cloyes Hex Adjust 3153-AL. This is the best chain and an adjustable timing set so you can degree your cam while you are at it!

I notice some poeple are degreeing thier cam with the stock timing chain set. What is the advantage of this with the stock non adj. setup? There is only 1 way to put it in

I think you can degree it but won't be able to set it properly with the stock setup. Therefore if you are supposed to install at 110 ICL, you degree it and find it to be 113 ICL you won't be able to correct it.

Yank is selling a bunch of new LS2 setups (chain and sprockets) for $60 shipped, check the FS section. Saves like $15 IIRC. That's what I went with.
