Default 3 bolt vs. 1 bolt cams
What LS engines cam with 3 bolt cams? What engines came with 1 bolt cams? Lookin at picking up a 6.0 soon and wondering what bolt cam it would take.

dude i dunno what you are refering to. LS1 cams and 6.0 cams interchange.

Maybe its the motors with vvt? But i heard there was three bolt cams and one bolt cams. I imagine its where the gear bolts to it. Never had one apart. Just don't want to get the wrong cam when im ready to build.

idk my 03 6.0 has 3 bolts holding the sprocket to the cam and 4 bolts on the cam retainer

The cams are interchangeable. A lot of guys go to the 3 bolt setup when they delete the D.O.D/VVT stuff in the engines with a 1-bolt setup. You can run just about any cam you want in your 6.0L shortblock, just make sure you have the correct cam gear for it.

Old thread, but Info is info!
I'm pretty sure that the LS2/3/A & 9 came with single bolt and I believe the LS9 originally came with a 3 bolt cam but you could buy the conversion kit to run single bolt.
