ANOTHER cam spec thread
Now, let's try to find one for my car.

Pacesetter LTs
Flowmaster merge collector
Powerbond 25% underdrive pulley
lid
Yank SS3600
3.50 gears
I recently bought 799 heads (same as LS2 243s) that will be getting installed. They will be left unmodified. And I plan on using the single PAC springs.
I do have a nitrous kit, but I'd like a cam geared more towards N/A because I rarely use the nitrous and it's only at the track. So the car needs to be fun on the weekends. (100-125 shot max)

and tell you what push rods and springs to run.
too bad you cant buy commen sense. it would be worth every penny to most. LOL
or you could down load a dcr calculater and do some calculations of youre own if you cant do the $25 for one to be specced but most would rather ask a stranger what will make them happy. with out fly cutting of course

Sorry, I didn't realize Pat G charged a fee....and I've seen some pretty good results from Predator-Z's recommendations.
Maybe he should start charging.

That said, making the cam work does take some patience and requires the setup to be spot on. XE-R lobes will come close to the same amount of power with a little greater margin for error. The difference is usually in the details.
Comp cam came up with dual 926 springs around the same time they released the LSL (LSR) lobes and holy behold, suddenly only the 926 will handle the lobes

.600>.050 variance on LSL is 50 and XE-R 49 so off the seat XE-R is actualy sharper.
The Pac 1518 are within the pressure parameters of the LSL lobes.
In general as you well know, poeple tend to use duals for more "peace of mind".
If those lobes were so harsh, springs would be just part of the worries and those lobes then should only be run with Morrel or Comp "R" lifters, but they are working fine with LS7s and such.
I have some on 850-16 comps with no issues to date.
If valvetrain is well centered (proper geometry) and right preload on lifters, the LSL are easier on the valvetrain than LSKs.
