HELP: motor question?
i am not sure if this is the right spot to post this if it isnt sorry im new to this forum
im lookin to purchase an ls2 6.0 motor/ short block
to build over winter, and as you guys know the same motor is in the escalade and a couple other gm's
could someone tell me if this is the right motor and or this is good?
no one could help me on corvetteforum thats why im new here and posting it

You could look into something like an lq9 6.0 block. Some people take those motors and make a 408 out of it. Or just forge the internals. It really depends on what your goal is as far as power and if your driving the car on the street or just strip. Little more info and we can help a little better, be as specific as possible on your goals.

If your staying N/A make the 408 with a custom grind cam and whatever heads will work the best with that cam, if you will be throwing spray on it, dont forget to reinforce the bottom end. But a 408 is usually a good choice in any instance.

i have a custom grind cam in my car now .589 .595 could i use the same cam?

Well if your going with a bigger cube motor you can go with a bigger cam. Not only that but if your planning to spray, get a new, big hp, custom cam that's responds well for spray. Thats you're best bet.
