I know Patriot used to offer them bare for a reasonable price. I'd give them and maybe Texas Speed a call to see what they offer.

From GM the bare head is pretty expensive. About $500 each.

Oddly, the assembled LS2 head (same bare head as the LS6) are $320 each. So it's cheaper to get it assembled than it is to get it bare, even if you want different springs/valves.

what is the difference in the ls1/ls2?

We ship fully cnc ported LS6 heads for right at $1000. You'll spend $500-$600 on a set of unported heads. With the ported heads you'll get free milling to your specs for a boost of compression!

I think we have the LS2 style heads with no porting you can buy for right at $550

The LS2 is the same 243 casting head as the LS6, they just had different valves.
