Default Aftermarket rockers?

How much can I ask out of my OEM rockers?

I'm looking at stage II heads and a cam something like 228/228 112lsa with under 0.600" lift. I love the look of the Comp Cams shaft rocker system and there's no doubt they won't flex, but $840 is 50% of my 12 bolt rear end budget!!! Where does it end? Do I need to replace the stock rockers or can I feel comfortable bolting them back into my new heads?

I've heard poeple say that anything under 0.570" lift OEM is fine, but the little devil on my other shoulder can't help to point out that after changing the cam, springs, retainers, pushrods and bushings...the rockers are the weak link remaining in the valve train

99% of the people on here with aftermarket cams use stock rockers and never have a problem

I just tore into my motor for the first time this weekend and pulled my stock rockers . Ive gotta say the quality is amazing for a stock peice . There pretty precision looking little suckers , a far cry from my old 5.0 stamped steel pos's . I think Im going to keep them in there for a while

Keep me (us) posted. I'm probably looking at a few months before I go for the tear down.
