Default push rod length?

so i have had my cam in my car for 3 weeks now. so a week ago i started to hear a ticking noise, i have ls7 lifters and have heard that you need a shorter push rod. so i pulled the valve cover off a pulled out the push rods, there a comp cam 7.40 .080. so i checked the pre load with the comp cam push rods and it .120 which i know is to high. so i put the stock ones back in there and the pre load came out to .070 which so perfect. so hear is my question the what does the .080 that is stamped on my comp push rods mean, and is there a chance that my car came w/7.35 push rods.

Default

.080 is the wall thickness of the pushrod.
