Default Anyone using new Comp behive style valve spring?

Just wondered if any real word testing has initiated any arguments as to how well these springs perform under various tempuatures. As I read on in the new PHR mag, i didnt see any reference to duplication of engine temp

well the valvespring isnt really new...its factory on ls1's and everyone on here pretty much has them on thier car.

I doubt temps have anything to do with anything, but they havent had a good rate of not breaking

918's suffered a bad batch. People really lost faith in using them for a while. I'm using them.

The beehive spring has many technolical advantages...it is a great design...

...however, some here claim that the busted Comp 918 springs were isolated to an early batch that did not receive proper heat treating...after the bad batch went out, Comp started putting blue stipes on the subsequent batches so people would know if they bought a pre or post bad-batch spring...

....unfortunately, some claim here that the post blue stripe springs are now breaking too....

...bringing up this topic here is like pouring battery acid into an open flesh wound, however.... For example, I will probably get a lot of mail now flaming me for stating a few undisputed facts...

...Anyway, for those who have not noticed, Comp is now making beehive springs for Chevy big blocks too...

The temperature is important; for example, you should not crank a bunch of RPMs before your motor and its springs have reached operating temperature....failing to do this will increase the chance of broken springs...

It did seem strange there was no ref. to duplicating operation temps in that article. The Spintron test Comp has been doing shows alot better control of the valve at high r's however they arnt lighting a fire under it during there testing. Its also interesting how the spring itself evenly compresses vs a conventional spring compresses its coils 1 by 1 top to bottom, anyway thanks for keeping my thread alive and sharing info ( maybe i should have offered a witness protection program for this thread so no one gets flamed)
