Cam's with same specs but diff manufacture?

I'm on the edge of buying my cam, but I had a question about cams with same specs, but from different manufactures. The question is will they perform the same or does each manufacture tweak them a lil different? Thanks for any help in advance.

how can they be tweaked if there the same? unless the advertised specs are false

different lobe profiles, and you can't judge everything by one measurement....

Same cam different names...

Some manufacturers use their own lobe designs. Be careful when buying from some "other" company that makes cams. If it's not a reputable company with a LOT of positive feedback on their product, I wouldn't use it. There's a lot of companies that have tried to cut corners on cutting cams, and they've fallen apart inside peoples' motors.

I use Comp (my designs, not their off-shelf stuff), and Cam Motion. Neither have ever let me down.

comps xer cams have many diff names by diff venders. you can order a xer 281 form comp or summit or jegs or you can buy it from tr as a tq'r v-2 i think

the xer 287 from comp or jegs is a ms3 or a c cam from hpe

they are all xer comp lobes (the cams i listed) just with fancy names because a xer281 dosnt really sound that cool)
just need to look at the lsa on them

all the direct from comps are a 112+2 combo. sometime's the new named lobes may have a slight change in the advertising but the cam cards are prob identical

they are good cams just do some homework before you chose one

I had the XER 287 once. Its specs are 238/240..an MS3 is 237/242...They are not the same cam.

well must be the ms3 and the hpe c cam or s cam it has been a year or2 since i was looking at those sorry for the wrong info.

but on a side note the ms3 has the xer lobe's and comps master list only list a 238 not a 237 lobe hhhmmmmm maybe it cam docters at like 237.5 who knows

no matter what the name if the vender uses comp to grind it you can find the lobes in the master lobe list.

What other cams are comparable to the vrx4 228/230?
