FWIW, I know people have had issues with the needle bearings. I haven't had any failures although I have been installing the trunion upgrades since they've been available. I just want people to know, when they post dyno graphs of combos that seem to fall on their face between 5800 and 6400, it is very commonly caused by aftermarket stud mount rockers. Don't get me wrong, they have their place but I just know that in 99% of the cases, they are more of a detriment than a benefit.

Thanks,
Shane

Dave were your HS's a set after the defect was found and corrected? Or did you just get a set and have been lucky? Not trying to badmouth HS, as they were quick to send replacements to a buddy of mine after his failure.

Can you point me to this, I would like to take a look at it. One issue I always had with the stockers was a method to shim correctly.

I'm glad I'm not the only one on this forum saying this.

You could try and get in touch with Trick Flow on this, simply because you bought their whole kit and didn't piece it together yourself. Maybe they could help you and if something ***** up you have a better chance, if any, of getting reimbursed for broken parts.

Also, measuring everything is always the right thing to do, every engine is different.

How far are you from Bridgewater? You could always bring the car over to Don at SlowHawk Performance. He knows his **** and can tune it after its all installed correctly as well.

All manufactures have some failures in the field, are you saying that H.S. needs to replace the entire manufacturing run of rockers that shipped to customers within a given time span...please reveal the defective lot numbers and dates produced. If the problem was that wide spread I didn't see much to that affect posted on LS1 Tech or Corvette Forum.

When talking about needle bearing failures. Are you guys talking about the upgraded stock rockers or the aftermarket roller rockers?

Their talking about OEM rocker arms and not the H.S. upgraded OEM version.

I was referring to a friend that was running HS's, and when a failure did occur, HS was quick to replace them free of charge.

That triunion isnt cheap is it? They fall on their face alot due to valvetrains setup incorrectly or insuffiecient spring pressure
mine pull out fine to 6900 on my TFS heads

The trunions aren't very expensive. We sell the kit for $134 I believe. Please be aware, I am not bashing anyone's setups. I see great results from many combos. Even in the graph above, I see instability above 6600. All I can tell you is, nothing good is happening when you see dips in dyno curves like that. Your's is very mild but its still there. Alot of times it all comes down to the combination. If the cam lobes get along with the pushrods, and they get along with the rockers and the springs can handle all the weight... Its all in the setup.

the smoothing made it all weird up top and the spike at the end the other 4 pulls were clean to 6800...that was the only pull i did to 6900...with roughly 450lbs open pressure 3/8 .065 wall 7.560" manton pushrods and YT rockers...when i set up the springs all at 1.795-1.800

I see Manton 3/8" thin wall pushrods... someone's REALLY done their homework...

Awesome choice. I only use Manton on high end setups such as yours.

Thanks...more should look into Manton pushrods....I spent under 130 shipped for my 3/8 .065 pushrods...and that was 8 of two different lengths to get my preload the same on intake and exhaust
hard to beat if they fit....3/8" diameter .065 wall 100% stiffer than 5/16 .080 wall....stiffer and lighter than the .120 wall 11/32 pushrods he offers
