Which Cam to go with?
ok so i have it narrowed down to 2 cams they are
MS3 237/242 .603"/.609" 113LSA
TSP 233/239 .595"/.603" 113LSA
the car is a 2000 T/A A4 with a 3200 stall, full exhaust, Weiand Intake, Ported TB, Lid, and a Wet 100 shot(only used when needed)
the car was only sprayed maybe 3 times so im not to worried about it also its my daily driver so i want to pick a cam thats DD friendly but makes good power with or with out spray, has decent low end power as well as good top end and like mentioned before street friendly(note the 113LSA instead of 111)

all i can tell you is i have ran about 5 diff cams but the 2 that will matter to you are the
1 xer 281 232/234 @.050
2 238/242@.050
and the 232 cam was absolutely sweet great mid range power and tq with my 59cc afr's and it loved a 150 shot
the 238/242 needed a 7200 1-2 to stop it from falling on its face with a a-4 and 346 gears but with a 150 shot ran 11.29 with a 1.9 60ft
the 232/234 cam was by far the best i have ran for all around power. i loved it
i have ran a
xr 281 228/230 xr lobes great first cam stock ex ran 12.2 with a 150 1.6 60ft
2 xer 281 232/234 xer lobes awsome cam never went to track but beat a 620hp big block(dynoed) with a 125 shot
3 238/242 not much low end but bad as idle 1.87 60 11.29@125
4 tr 224/114 lsa hated this cam too much tq no rpm

honestly if youre going to drive this car a lot i would stay away from the bigger cams unless you dont mind it. i would would do a mild h/c set up instead of going with a huge cam and no heads. you dont NEED to but i would definitly get a bigger converter. i would go with atlease a 3600 but thats on you

well i was hoping that the converter would be ok but i dont have the funds to get a new one but what would be the effects of the 2nd cam and my stall

Something like a 226-8 .588 114... It would be VERY streetable, easily tuneable, make good low end and top end power, love nitrous, would be ok with an ls6 or similar intake, 3500 or possibly just a tad smaller converter, etc etc etc..
I think that would suit your needs/wants/setup more than either of the two cams listed.
What I'm trying to say is the smaller 226 cam will perform just as good as the Ms3 or the other one with your setup.

thanks for all the input i was compaing the 233/239 cam with the 228/228 cam and im haveing a realy tough time deciding now the 233/239 has a 1900-6500 power band and the 228 has a 1600-6300 and i have a buddy of mine that has the 233/239 in his z28 with a 3600stall and i love the way his car drives and puts on the power but i never experienced a 228/228 car and we have almost part for part on our cars besides the stalls how would my car put up agains his is in drivability and performance?

But, look at at my post in the SR&K section.. the biggest cam isnt always the best.
IMHO, when it comes down to it... spend the money and get a custom grind.. Just as much power as the big cams with more driveability and better power range.

As for how driveability will be.... This is all up to the tuner. My Ms4 had better manners than my current 226 does.. Once I get my tuner to tune on the 226 it will have better manners of course.

It is somewhat tuned. Gomer tuned it originally.. Then one of the previous owners had someone else tune it (won't say who) but I am in NO way happy with this tune.. It surges and dies more than my Ms4 car did..

I've engine dyno tested these camshafts we're discussing as well as 232/234s until I see them in my sleep. What I can tell you is go with the smaller duration camshaft without a doubt in your application. I personally would really rather you install the Torquer v3 111+2 or 3. It will make power earlier & still make good power up top. I know your thinking 113 for the idle, but honestly the 111+3 will still idle pretty good & make power earlier which is what we need if your looking for the larger camshaft power but staying good low end power for that verter!

you think ill be fine with a torquer V3? i was lookin at the cam but the lift was kinda high on it but the duration look good tho and will that cam like a 100 wet shot to it? also do i need injectors with that cam and a wet shot or just a fuel pump
