It is a difference in design of the main beam. These days it seems both work well if they are forged of 4340 material and machined properly. Callies has some of the best priced stuff that is machined properly and they are rated for the hp they can hold by Callies. The hp is not really what kills rods as much as rpm/piston weight, but the general guidelines they use are reasonable.

first of all i think we are not in grammer class

i personally like the D rods. ive found they are much stronger, and with a hollow center they weigh barley anything.

I have O rods in mine and they are holding 1000 hp and 875 tq. It is my 72 vw bug. I flored it once and it flipped on its roof! I forgot the wheelie bars

Dont worry about I or H just spend the Money for a nice set of 300M steel rods that are drilled for force oiling to the Pin hole and call it a Day
