Default Can't afford to do head and cam, need help

what is the best cam to get if I am sticking with the stock heads? What should I do to beef up the stock heads? I really wanted to do the h/c package but I can't right now and I will be happy with just a cam swap. I am looking to get 400 rwhp. Thanks for the help.

finish up your intake and exhaust setup before delving into heads or cams. get some LT's, ls6 intake, ported TB, dump the flowmaster, ect.

with full bolt ons and a 224 cam 390-400rwhp with a good tune is possible on stock heads. a 230+ cam should easily do it, bigger isnt always better though.

with a new cam you'll need new springs at bare minimum, depending on how radical a cam you go with will determine if you should get singles or doubles. for a single spring you cant beat the manley kit from SDPC, springs are good for .600. a dual spring look into revs, comps 921, PP new duals, and cranes. there all good for .650 lift and the revs are .625 lift. invest in some hardened pushrods as well. also look into a new chain and oil pump for your swap.
