Default which heads

I was wondering which heads you guys thinks are the best bang for your dollar. I am getting ready to do a head/cam package pretty soon and I wanted a couple of opinions. I was thinking of going with the patriot stage II Ls6 style heads. Thanks

FWIW, the porters that I was looking at were:

TEA
MTI
Absolute Speed

I bought the MTI Stage 2E's in a 5.3 casting. The race was real close...believe me.

I''m in the same boat. So far I'm down to Patriot 5.3 Stage II heads (LS6 are better for big cams) I'm runing a 228 581 112lsa. My final compression ratio shour be 10.8-11:1. I will be installing 25% underdrive pulleys and am running SLP long Tube headers. I will be replacing the cats with ORPs.
I hve no smog cert here and am hoping for 425rwhp. I wil also be swapping to 4.10 gears.

TRhe LS6 heads are good for really big cams running high revs, I'm loking for a street car that will make good power and top out at around 6,400rpm.

Good Luck

I know alot of people may be shocked by this but, with recent results from patriots ls6 and 5.3l heads, I feel the best bang for the buck heads would be absolutes or my good friends at TEA, those two are the most consistant trouble free power producers

Will you ever go away? Or buy some mods? We all know that the ONE car not dynoing up to par has other problems than the heads.

I think if I do heads i'll go with the Patriot's. I've heard great things about them and there's NO core charge.

I got my stock heads ported for next to nothing, but if I were to spend money on a new set of heads I'd get Patriot stage II LS6 heads.

TEA, Absolute, or Patriot. It all comes down to your personel choice. I have met Terry in person and i like what hes doing for the LS1 comunity. I will be going with Patriots Stage III LS6 heads myself for Forced Induction on my 383. No core Either means you can sell your stocks heads also so that takes the price spent down even lower. Thats just my opinion though.
