New pushrods for ls6 cam?
Don't know what year your LS1 is but if it's a 98 then you will need .016 shorter push rods to achieve the same lifter preload. The 98 base circle is 1.552 diameter. The 01 LS6 cam has a 1.520 diameter base circle. I installed this cam in mine with my stock length 98 pushrods and got too much lifter noise. My current cam is a Comp 218/218 with a 1.540 BC. Lifter noise is acceptable. Had I milled my heads .015 then I would have had stock lifter preload.
Be careful with some of the aftermaket cams. Make sure you know the BS before buying the cam or plan to modify.
4mulaJoe,
What does the spring installed height have to do with push rod length?
