Default Piston to Valve Clearance Question

My heads are currently milled .030 thousandths and I'm wondering how big of a cam can I get? Currently running the 224/224 .581/.581 112 LSA cam.

By the way they are 5.7 Liter Heads, and 2.02/1.57 valves

I wouldn't go any bigger than 230 duration on both sides to be safe. I ran a 230/230 110 cam with .025 off and no problems.

What lift was on the cam?

.595/.595

Lift isn't the only determining factor in PV. You need to be MORE worried about duration, and ICL. That is what moves the valves closer and farther away from the piston. Lift measure how far the valve opens inside the chamber.

Like I said, stick with something no more than the 230ish duration range, and do not go under a 110 LSA.

Thanx dude, do you think a 224/230 cam on a 114 would fit?
