i bought a 5.3 for, i need some help hi guys , i bought a 5.3 from a 2004 yukon or subarban...complete with ecm and hasness, i need to know what engine this is is it, it is dbw and i need dbc setup and i have no idea how to do that..... will i need to change the intake or just the throttle body? can i program the dbc setupp in my ecm with Hp Tuner? the engine is for my jeep wrangler so it will be a stand alone....
Yes, just the TB & then you can dissable the drive by wire stuff with HP tuners. With HP tuners, set your electronic throttle parameters to zero (B2706,B2713, B2717). You will get an ETC warning note every time you open the program file; ignore it. The warning will say something like "warning, one or more ETC settings is out of range." Again, it's just a default warning as a safety note to those using dbw, it won't effect you @ all. Just remember to zero out the table & then you're good. May have to tweek your idle settings, but probably not.
