Default Too much spark?

So I had PO300 code. Random miss fire. Changed plugs & wires two times. The car would still start to miss on occasion. Finally, it got real bad and we found a wire arcing off of header. #7. I put 8mm wires and again back to PO300 code. Back to original wires now and I think it's starting again. Could the coil pack be generating excessive voltage causing the arc?

Default no

No the coil is not producing too much spark. It is either arcing from the wire to the coil base, arcing from the wire to the header, spark plug problem, but i would guess the first one. make sure the wires snap on the coil and that the boot for the wire is push all the way up on the coil. let us know what you find.

The last time it was arcing from the wire to the header, but I will check the coil base also. I will replace the coil pack, as I have a spare. Weird.

not from the base, but sometimes the spark comes out where the wires snap on the coil. Just not a tight enough fit. make sure wire is all the way on the coil.

Yes the wire is on there really good. Still going to replace the coil. I have a spare one. I will keep you posted. Thanks for the help.
