Exclamation Need quick help on ARP head studs!!

I'm getting ready to torque my heads down and I noticed that my washers on my ARP head studs have a chamfered side and a flat side.. which one goes up, or does it matter? The instructions didn't say and the last set I used (on my mustang) didn't have a chamfered side.
Thanks

I think ARP uses a "universal" washer for all there bolts/studs. The chamfered washer is for the bolts. It goes chamfered side up.

hum. is there a reason for this. i have always installed them flat side up and have not had any problems in the past. i wonder if it really even matters since arp does not make a big deal about it. they seem to only consentrate on the torque specs.

My studs have different threads going into the block, than what the nuts thread onto. Mine only go in one way...
