Default Forged internals stock block

i want to put forged rods and pistons in my block. i'm reading the sticky for the ls1/ls6 dimensions and i am a little confused as to the sizes i need to buy to keep stock bore on my block while also using stock crank. I've noticed there are 6.100"and 6.125" length rods. which do i need to go with? pistons i think i've got down for bore. i'm assuming they're going to have to be the 3.898" size. is this correct? could i use a 3.905?

do u plan on assembly of motor yourself? by your post, it seems that you are not familiar with basic engine math. u can use either 6.1 or 6.125 rods. with stock crank.

look up 347, this will be your new CID since you can not use the standard 3.898 bore pistons unless you have a new block. Your block will need to be honed I think someone makes a 3.903 piston, but I am not sure. I am currently in the process of purchasing parts for a 347 and I use the 3.905 JE pistons with 6.125 rods (you could use 6.100 rods). wherever you do make sure you plan ahead and set a budget to avoid wasting money and time.

hone/bore with plate is around 250
balancing is around 225-250
you need new cam bearings around 60 installed
new main bearings 60-100
shortblock assy around 300
if you need a line hone about 150
if you stick with press fit pistons it will be 80 to fit them as well.

It depends on how much you want done...it adds up fast

It would probably be cheaper to just buy an assembled short block and sell off the one you have now...

this is very close to what it will be. I spent 2600 to get my shortblock 383 done. thats everything from crank to labor.
